This series consists of correspondence, reports, memorandums, and other records of the Industrial Technology Division and its predecessors. The materials generally relate to the interpretation of existing regulations and the development of new specific effluent guidelines and regulations concerning water quality management issues affecting industrial sources for the pesticide manufacturing industry, to include Best Available Techniques (BAT). Records include drafts of proposed regulations and guidelines, the final regulations and guidelines, public and internal comments, draft reports, telephone records, telephone surveys, statistical results, summaries of and response to comments on proposed pesticide regulations, computer printouts of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) compound listings, final rule records, scientific literature concerning pesticides, and other background documents and technical support material generated during the process to develop the regulations. Topics include the analysis of selected priority pollutants in samples from an activated study on a pilot plant, pesticides Best Available Techniques (BAT) review verification, the evaluation of the pesticide chemicals category Effluent Limitations Guidelines, the Pretreatment Standards and New Source Performance Standards, the Chemical Specialties Manufacturers Association (CSMA), the industrial assessment of the pesticide industry, and the measurement of N-Methyl Carbamoyloximes and N-Methyl Carbonates in drinking water.
